Free retro shoot 'em up game

1945 Air Force is a free game from Onesoft Studio that allows players to take control of a warplane. Here, you will assume a squadron leader of an elite air force unit. You will engage in a team and solo action warfare aboard the most famous historical airplanes.

1945 Air Force is a shoot 'em up that reinvents the classic arcade games of the 90s. It follows the same old-school concept and gameplay. Even the pixelated look has been maintained. However, it has improved its playability. Although, the game often fails to save your progress and upgrades.

What is the 1945 Air Force?

1945 Air Force is a World War II game taken directly from classic arcade games of the 90s. As mentioned, it puts you in charge of a squadron of an elite air force unit, where you can pilot over 30 historical planes from the USA, Great Britain, USSR, Germany, and Japan Air Forces. It will also take you to over 30 legendary WWII battle zones.

Mastering the gameplay is simple, mainly because it's similar to every other airplane shooter genre. Your plane shoots missiles automatically. With this, you only need to control your plane across the screen by dragging your fingers across the screen. When you shoot the enemy, you get coins and spare parts that you can use to buy new and better planes. You can also improve the ones you have.

The game improved the playability of the old-school genre by offering three difficulty levels. Once you beat a lesser difficulty, you can unlock a new one. Moreover, you can play the game solo offline or with a team online. However, as mentioned, it often fails to save your progress, prompting you to play a level again. Additionally, the upgrades cost too much.

Should you play it?

Overall, 1945 Air Force is a must-have game for anyone who loves the shooting genre. It offers immersive gameplay that is suitable for both classic and neophyte players. Moreover, it covers three difficulty levels and is playable online and offline. However, prepare to play some stages again since the app often fails to save the progress you've made. Additionally, with the updates, the daily missions are too hard to complete.
